I loved the days of listening to the band in Heckshire (sp?) Park. I took my father once who had been a musician and wasn’t thrilled about my dating one, therefore, then,it was John G. I asked him what he thought of John’s solo and he said he couldn’t pick him out due to the ‘reflection’. Anyway, I married a poet and was sorry to hear of John’s passing but happy about his work with Simon and the great concert in the park, Ann Boylston Violi
Hi Ann,
It was good to hear from you, and I’m glad you found my music site. I felt like I had a kinship with John, and I was very sad to learn of his passing. But good, as you say, that we have recordings and especially video of him playing with Simon and Garfunkel in that great Central Park Concert. And those Heckscher (I had to look up the spelling) Park concerts were fun – great memories.
Interesting that you married a poet. My brother Michael wrote novels and poetry. He was two years behind me, and he went off to a prep school in New England starting in 8th grade, so he didn’t graduate from Whitman. Here’s a link to his site in case you’re interested https://michaeldusenberry.wordpress.com/
I like poetry very much. If you like, send me some of your husband’s.
I guess that’s it for now. I’ll be posting a few new things pretty soon. In the meantime stay safe.
